About Lockhams Road, Curdridge, Southampton, SO32, England

This beautiful country home, set in the heart of the Hampshire countryside in the highly desirable village of Curdridge, has been the subject of considerable thought and attention by the present owner over the last 26 years, effortlessly marrying the 18th and 19th centuries. Offering accommodation over 3,700 sq ft, Governors House is a wonderful haven within striking distance of all desirable amenities. Video Tour and 3D interactive floor plans are available.

An impressive, generously proportioned hall leads to two elegant reception rooms, both featuring original working fireplaces, leading on to the dining room and kitchen / family room beyond. This welcoming and spacious home seamlessly lends itself both to easy living and entertaining on a larger or more intimate scale, with each room offering plenty of light and space.

The bespoke Neville Johnson kitchen, with a preparation island and separate breakfast bar, flows into a cosy seating area and adjoining conservatory, offering plenty of space to relax and benefits from a shared double-sided fireplace with the more formal dining room.

On the first floor all the bedrooms are spacious doubles and two have built-in wardrobes. The master bedroom is a fantastic size and benefits from a large en-suite bathroom. All the bedrooms enjoy double aspect views of their surroundings through windows on two sides.

Outside the house is reached through a large gate, opening onto a gravel drive with ample parking for numerous cars and a large double garage with loft and excellent storage space. The well-stocked garden is in three sections, with the rear garden being both paved and laid to lawn and features a Summer House and dining area. The laid to lawn section has been partly left to re-wilding encouraging flora and fauna. The southwest facing garden is also laid to lawn and partly re-wilded, whilst the northerly garden is paved. The gardens are bordered in the main by fencing, with the rear and side gardens partly benefitting from an attractive 18th century wall of the adjoining property, creating an oasis of calm.
