Weybridge Area Overview
Weybridge is a popular town in Surrey that offers a perfect blend of urban and rural living. It is green and leafy - with an enviable location close to the River Thames - lying adjacent to some of the county’s finest countryside. Yet it is surprisingly quick and easy to travel to London, too – with a fast train to Waterloo taking just 25 minutes - making it a great choice for commuters.
Weybridge falls under the district of Elmbridge, which was named in 2011 as “The Best Place to Live in the UK” in a survey by Halifax. It was noted that people who live here are high earners, in good health, with impressive homes and an excellent quality of life.
The most prestigious area of Weybridge, around a mile out of town, is St George’s Hill, a private, gated community with its own golf club and spa. The properties here range in style, but they are all very elegant and desirable.
There are many excellent schools in Weybridge, both primary and secondary, and the town centre has a good range of shops, from big supermarkets to boutique clothing stores. There are also some fine pubs and restaurants dotted in and around Weybridge, many of which are rich in history and character.
Weybridge is a great base for exploring the Surrey Hills and there are a number of other attractions within easy reach, such as the Brooklands Motor Museum, Walton Marina and numerous golf clubs and spas.
